"Justice is in the details."

The murder of George Floyd is again a reminder that systems of oppression continue to discriminate with impunity, and need to be toppled. It has deepened the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership's resolve to ensure each school, and every educator within those schools, enhance individual and collective knowledge and action for creating just and equitable schools. We encourage you to visit our ever-evolving Equity page to learn more about our mission for anti-racism, equity, and educational activism, including our recent Call to Action.
Our Belief: Individual Schools are the Unit of Success in Education
Through an unprecedented partnership between the Springfield Public Schools, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), and the Springfield Education Association (SEA), the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) ensures that each individual school has the necessary autonomy and flexibility to create the best educational environment for its students.
